Somasca is part of the municipality of Vercurago on the outskirts of Lecco.
Rising along the Via San Girolamo we reach the parking lots where you can leave the car in order to continue.
The route starts with the Basilica where the relics of St. Jerome are placed.
Following is a small church dedicated to the Mother of Orphans; Girolamo morì here in 1537.
The route continues through the houses and then on to an open space where the arch that marks the beginning of the avenue of the chapels, that tell the life of the saint.
At the half of the avenue is the Scala Santa.
At the end of the path you come to the place called "Valley" where there is another church and the source of the miracle.
If you want you can continue to the "Fortress of the Nameless" by Manzoni, from which you can admire splendid views on the Lake and the Valley of San Martino.
